Infection Control is the professional term used to describe the sterilization and disinfection processes of our dental instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms.
Here at esmiles we have state of the art equipment that is well maintained and properly used to ensure the optimal level of sterilization and disinfection. Each sterilized package has both an internal and external indicator to ensure that our autoclave (sterilization machine) has reached the conditions required to sterilize everything within the package. esmiles dentistry also participates with a biological monitoring service through the University of Detroit Mercy to be sure our autoclaves are continually functioning properly.
Each of our treatment rooms are disinfected after each and every patient. You can be assured that every time you are treated in our office by our professional staff that you are in a clean room with sterile instruments.
If you have any questins or would like to see our sterilization area, please feel free to ask.
As of the beginning of this year we have a new piece of technology in our office that allows us to take impressions for crowns and bridges with a blue cam camera. No more mouth full of impression material and best of all this technology produces more accurate restorations in a quick time frame.
At esmiles we have made a conscious decision a few years ago to be as green as we can while still maintaining excellence in the delivery of dental treatment. From our computerized charts and digital x-rays, we have reduced the amount of paper needed in day to day operations. Fluorescent bulbs and recycling of all recyclable material also help us decrease our footprint on the environment and our new Cerec machine continues this philosophy by eliminating most of the material needed in the process of making restorations. Ask us about other ways we encourage our patients to be green as well.
